 Risk is an important reality in business 
 because we live in a world of uncertainty. This course provides a comprehe
 nsive overview of risk and strategies on how to manage it. It acknowledges
  that not all risk is bad\, that in fact with risks we also encounter oppo
 rtunities. The&nbsp\; course is structured around the risk management proc
 ess defined in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
 \, published by the Project Management Institute. The course provides a sy
 stematic approach of identifying risks\, analyzing the risks for potential
  impact to the organization or project\, creating strategies to mitigate r
 isks\, applying risk response measures when risk events occur\, and establ
 ishing procedures for monitoring\, controlling\, and reporting on risks. B
 oth concepts and practical tools are provided for students to manage risk 
 in their own organizations and projects.
